Supporting farmers on ecology
It all started in Moscow, March 2002. People with strong commitment, highly competent partners and economic funding gave us what we needed to begin. The Ministry of Agriculture and Anne Katrine Fossum, now managing director of agriculture in Hedmark supported us further with money and encouraged us to proceed. As we finished a succesful pilot project, we clearly saw that our idea had the right to live. The foundation EkoPomorka was established January 2004. Our name means something: Eco is ecology, Pomor is inspired from the Pomor trade between North West Russia and the North of Norway. The trade focused on exchange of fish and grain products. Pomors is the russian expression for people living on the coast or by the sea.
We aim to actively push forward the effort to help Russia develop in an ecological direction, and to contribute to this important task.
